July 26, 2026

In July 2026, the Syrian real estate market experienced notable developments, with property prices in upscale areas such as Malki, Abu Rummaneh, and Mezzeh exceeding $2,000 per square meter, while mid-income neighborhoods saw prices ranging between $600 and $1,000 per square meter. A Gulf real estate group announced plans to invest $20 billion in housing, resorts, and public facilities in Damascus and Latakia, with construction expected to begin within the next few months. In an effort to diversify oil export routes, Syria signed an agreement with Iraq to revive the oil pipeline from Kirkuk to the Baniyas port, aiming to provide an alternative to the Strait of Hormuz. On the tourism front, Syria welcomed 3.52 million visitors in the first half of 2026, marking a 111% increase compared to the same period last year. For investors, Baytna currently offers 14 listings, including 12 for sale with an average price of approximately $139,500, and one for rent at an average of $200 per month.
